Nicholas Scott Catone

I first learned of Nicholas' story in late June when I read a Facebook post, written by his dad, former UFC fighter, Nick Catone. Soon after that, I read a post from Nicholas' mom, Marjorie, a registered nurse. Nicholas was a happy, lively 20 month old who enjoyed playing with his big sister. According to his parents, Nicholas was a healthy little boy, except for when he received vaccines. With each round, his health would deteriorate; even though his parents chose a less aggressive vaccine schedule than the one recommended by the CDC.

Although Nicholas had recently been treated with antibiotics, he was given the MMR vaccine at his 15 month "well checkup" on January 10th. In early February, another round of antibiotics was prescribed. Then, on April 25th, at his 18 month "well checkup" he was given the DTaP. He developed a rash, runny nose and cold symptoms. Over the next several days he was feverish and lethargic. As pediatricians still routinely prescribe, Nicholas was given Tylenol (acetaminophen) and Motrin (ibuprofen) to help alleviate his symptoms; and then on May 12, 2017, he passed away in his sleep, leaving behind his shocked and heartbroken parents and a sweet sister who at the tender age of three, is dealing with the loss of her best buddy.

Please pray for Nicholas' parents and sister; and honor Nicholas' memory by sharing their story so that others know that vaccine injury and death are real; far more frequent than we are told; and can happen to anyone who chooses to vaccinate.

“What we have to live with every day now, for the rest of our lives, is torture: knowing my son is gone, watching our family members hurt and cry every single day. Please educate yourselves, do your research, something is going on. We once stood in your same shoes, hearing of these horrible stories and thinking it would never happen to us. We thought ‘everyone else does it.’ It’s a normal thing to go get our shots done. We put them on a schedule and spaced them out one at a time. Our world is a much different place now than was 35 years ago. I have learned so much now and this is happening more than we think. Thousands of people, since Nicholas’ death, have reached me with their personal stories. We need to make a change and raise awareness to what is going on. Children are passing away just like my son did or being injured and more are going to if this keeps up. It’s not natural for a 20-month-old to just die. Every parent wants what’s best for their kid and to keep them safe the only way we can do that is to come together. What’s going on is only going to get worse. Do not let this happen to your child and family.”
